Christmas was a quiet affair over at Patrick's parents place on Vancouver Island near Mill Bay. The
community is an upscale retirement development complete with 18 hole golf course and indoor tennis. But we
Hogan's never got to those upscale things. We hiked in a nearby park that is rather enchanting especially for
Emily and Matthew. While the weather was on again off again rain it didn't stop us from getting out and seeing
the lights and the woods. Grandma and Grandpa were great. Always with the parenting advice which we take
to heart since Genie and Patrick need all the advice they can get to rally Emily to their way of thinking.
Of course this notion is an impossibility since children march to their own drum beat. Nevertheless, as newbie
parents they put out their best effort to help the kids through each phase no matter how tough it can get.
